'kids with guns'
This film examines and questions, without forming an opinion or making summary judgments, why many children have a fascination with guns and playing war.
Children have no trouble gaining access to firearms and over 5% of high school students in the United States, affirm that they carried a gun in the past month, and it is estimated that approximately one million children bring guns to school each year.
Non-war deaths; an estimated 2 million children have been killed with small arms since 1990. Non-fatal injuries in addition to those killed, an estimated 1.5 million children are wounded by small arms each year. Small arms kill 200,000 people worldwide each year in homicides, suicides, unintentional shootings and shootings by police. In countries like Brazil, USA and South Africa, guns are a leading cause of death among young people.
These are the facts. It is numbing that considerable numbers of children find it easy to gain access to guns and are killed or being injured due to firearms.

"53," Oct. 1st Caitlin Bowers/Sterz
Choreography by Caitlin Bowers:
"53," is a fusion of the diverse styles of hip hop, modern, and krump.
This work was made from empathy; catharsis for those born into a violent
captivity who don't know the world outside of their cage. We dedicate our
energy to those whose lives are defined by struggle.

Stepping Out For Art
Oct 07, 2010 by Alan Singer
…remarkably, I saw all these shows in one evening with a return to the Hungerford Building to see an installation by my neighbor, Sterz. He is a sculptor of light and action - in this iteration we have two florescent pink sheets of acetate hanging from the high ceiling, they dance in a breeze from an electric fan - through which a theatre spot light casts its ethereal glow on a white wall. The thin sheets hanging from a thread move about within a small circumference, the effect of the dance of light and color is mesmerizing. I am reminded of a line from William Carlos Williams: "so much depends upon a red wheel barrow".. and I am thankful for an art that merges into poetry, into psychology, into simplicity, into life.

I am the child that does not miss much
I am the child that does not miss much
A sailboat is not a destination in it self, rather it is a vehicle to expand and explore your imagination.
An entryway, a gateway, hatch, an opening, a passage way. A door is a portal, to the unknown, an opportunity to see what’s on the other side, to everything and nothing at all.
I am the child that does not miss much
